How was it? - 2006/07/10 09:15 How did the ride go. I heard 89 and 104 were closed part of the day, did this effect the ride?

Re:How was it? - 2006/07/10 12:46 I'm tired!

As a rider, i loved it (yeah, I'm biased), but of the 5 saddlesores I've done, I felt fresher at the end on this one moreso than the others- although this route was way more technical. I attribute that to the following: more twisties meant I was a more active rider, the straight stuff just kills me on the R1. The other thing that helped immensely was drinking tons of water with electrolyte replacement added. Normally I drink straight water. Wow did that help.

For the entire ride, we had two mechanical DNF's, no injuries, 1 bike that ran off pavement and flopped over with nothing but a few scratches (and that rider finished). Everyone either made it, or made it home safely which is the part I'm most happy about.

We'll post up all the data on the ride as soon as we recover CA-4 was closed until 3:00pm. Only the first few riders got there before the road re-opened, they either re-routed correctly, or waited for it to reopen. I got there right at 3pm and it was open.

Re:How was it? - 2006/07/15 14:08 Ok, we've got a bunch of the ride data posted now, go over to the events section (also linked off the home page)... We're gathering up pictures to post as well.

If you have any stories to relate from the road, or a trip report you'd like to write, please post it in this forum.
